Using A600 as FTP server
« on: March 29, 2008, 06:05:40 AM »
My A600 has 2 MB of Chip RAM and kickstart 3.1. I'm using Miami 3.2B as TCP/IP stack and a PCICIA network card

I want to turn my A600 as a FTP server to copy files from my pc to my A600. I could use Samba, but my my A600 only has 2 MB of RAM and A 68000 processor is very slow.

Does someone know how I could use ftpd2 or another FTP server? Or other program?

I know it runs under Genesis and AMITCP. The Genesis version of OS 3.9 doesn't work and I can't get hold of AMITCP version 4.

That's also an option. I will try it.

I try the Netwrkbootdisk. Finally I can get a ftp connection with my Amiga 600.

Now I have another problem. I changed the FTPdir from RAM: to CompactFlash:, but it still show the RAM disk.

I checked every config file, but can't get it work.

I also like to have the option commands of FTPD.

Thank you for your information. I alrady found it.
Now I can make a FTP connection from my PC to my A600.
The Networkbootdisk works very easy. I recommend this to everybody.

I know I can use Samba connecting to a PC network. I wrote a Dutch tutorial about that.

Samba 2.0.7. doesn't work anymore with Vista.

Here some specs about my A600:

2 MB Chipmem
Kickstart 3.1 and Workbench 3.1
Target 10MBit PCMCIA network card
IDE 2.5" CF reader with a Kingston 1 GB CompactFlash Card
A600/A1200 reset fix
