but what I want to know is, what's the point if it costs 100USD? cos you could get a secondhand 060 card, or indeed an 040 for not much more!

Oh I see! Yeah, I don't blame you for not wanting to destroy the card!
 
Am I right in thinking that there are less compatibility issues with an 040 as well?
