simple A1200 HD question
« on: April 21, 2003, 08:20:53 PM »
Although I haven't done it before, its got to be one of the easiest operations ever (not as difficult as setting up a probe station for leakage current measurements on 300um solid state detectors anyway!)... I'm starting to wonder if the HD is **cked

I take apart the A1200, and carefully lift the k'board. I put the 2.5" HD on the mounting bracket and carefully plug it in to the pins on the mobo. I plug in a PSU, switch it on, and......nothing, no LEDs on the miggy, no floppy drive clicks....
Hmmmm....
I then plug in an A500 PSU, thinking this might solve the problem. Power up, and.....nothing...:(

How do I know if the HD is 'ked or not? It came all nicely boxed in an antistatic bag with a load of Amiga gear I picked up. Or is there something I have overlooked?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Yes, I've taken the HD out and it works fine!
