I find that to be safe on the road, not only do you have to make sure that you drive safely, at an appropriate speed for the conditions (I do drive fast, but only when I know its safe), but you also have to keep an eye on all the other drivers.
Be ready to get out of a hole because of someone else's lack of judgement - like when you're driving along happily at about 60mph, and then some idiot coming the other way decides to overtake, and you have to break sharply so they can get in, as they're going FAST. You have to be ready at all times to rectify other people's mistakes - people pulling out on you, general stupidity, even people who are tired or have had too many :-(
I find myself getting angry when I see other people putting themselves at risk too. Often will I shout 'f'ing idiot!' when I see someone doing something dangerous.
But tend to be calmer when its just people wanting to overtake etc. I just think - maybe they're late for work, or for an interview, maybe they're rushing to see someone in hospital, relax.....breathe....relax
