Amiga LCD
« on: November 15, 2003, 04:56:32 AM »
Hi - I remember reading online that some LCD monitor's may not be compatible with Amiga's. I am thinking about getting one, and wanted to know if there was anything I had to look out for.

The 2 models which appeal to me the most are the Samsung 241MP and the LG Electronics 295LM. Both of these have a tv tuner; I want to use the monitor as a tv substitute.

I like the look of the Samsung and it is a 24" monitor. The LG Electronics is a 22" monitor (and is less expensive), but it has a USB port/hub which I thought would be good for my PC (attaching both Amiga and PC and switching between them by the video source), although I am not sure if the monitor would accept both a USB video input and VGA input at the same time.

I have an Amiga 2000 with a PicassoIV - would I be able to take advantage of the 24" screen? (I also have an A1200 with BVision, but I use the A2000 more)

I was also wondering - what is the difference between my getting a LCD monitor that has a tv tuner such as the Samsung 241MP, and a LCD tv that has PC compatibility like the 32" Samsung LTN325W? Does one of them have better computer monitor resolution?

Thanks,
Roy
