cpu overheating symptons [a2000]
« on: March 08, 2003, 07:13:00 AM »
what are the symptons of an overheated cpu for an Amiga? in my case, I have an A2000/blizzard 2040 -- what seems to happen is: I turn on the computer, right after workbench finishes loading up, the computer crashes (it freezes, and then blacks out)... I opened up the case, andI noticed that the cpu fan for the blizzard2040 had stopped - I disassembled it, and it was full of dust. I cleared it, and after a while, it started rotating, but it still turns rather slow...

does the crashing right after bootup fit in with an overheated cpu? I cannot tell because right now there are manymany things going wrong with my a2000.

if it is the cpu fan, does anyone know what specific model fan I can/should use to replace it? I guess I will have to take the fan out with me to compusa or datavision, but is there anything I should know or be careful of?

thanks,
roy
