Hi From Chicago!
I have been reading news and discussions on Amiga.Org for a while now. I have decided to
respond to this post and be heard.
My personal computer is an A3000/030 with 16 megs Ram, 10 Gig Scsi Drive, CD-Rom, OS
V3.9, X-Surf ethernet card, and a KDS 17 inch monitor.
I run a business out of my house and the business has: A1200/060 32 megs Ram, 20 Gig IDE
Drive, PCMCIA ethernet card (National Amiga), and a Sony 17 inch monitor.
My partners computer is a: A4000T/060 32 megs Ram, 40 Gig IDE Drive, CDRW Drive, X-surf
ethernet card, and a Compaq 17 inch monitor.
We have all the Amigas networked together and we have the networked connected to a
cable modem. My partner had never used an Amiga before until she began working with
me about 2 yrs ago. She has a Compaq laptop at home, but she doesn't use it much
anymore. And when we get AmigaOne/OS4.0, she is going to take the A4000T home.
She always tells me that the A3000 sold her on the Amiga. How can a 13 yr old
computer do all that it can do (networked, browse the net, so on). I am just glad
the A3000 is still working after all these years. I still have the original
Commodore 1950 monitor that I bought with the A3000 and it still
works, just sitting in the closet since we have much better monitors now.
Thanks for you time.
