Yeah, CED was always a terrific program, I just can't get past the issue of being forced to buy it retail and have it shipped from England/Europe to Canada.  When I bought my SAM from a vendor over there, the sale was terrific up until it came to it being shipped -  it arrived and the box was all mangled and looked like it had been opened, not to mention the shipper "losing" the item for a week mysteriously, added fees, etc.  Not an experience I want to repeat and the cost by the time it got here would be pushing it for Amiga software buying CED retail.  Will have a look at OS 4 Depot and see what's around for OS 4 native text editors, thanks all!

It's vice versa for me, I'll like to have a physical copy of my software. I bought CED5 some weeks ago, but it's easier for me as I live in Germany. If you're looking for some code editor that works on OS4.x, you might look for:

- CubicIDE (68k, this can be bought online!): http://devplex.awardspace.biz/
- CodeBench (PPC): http://www.codebench.co.uk/
- Annotate (PPC, more the simple editor style, but has syntax high lighting, updates itself online): http://www.onyxsoft.se/
- TUITed (68k, editor with syntax high lighting): http://www.hd-rec.de/HD-Rec/index.php?site=contributions
- if you like to code with AmiBlitz, you can of course use the corresponding editor from the package (PED): http://amiblitz.amiforce.de/ (or http://sourceforge.net/projects/amiblitz3/files/).

And then there's always Memacs in your Utilities drawer ... ;-)
