INDY AGA MK1 strange display
« on: November 19, 2013, 08:09:47 PM »
Hi,

I have two identical INDY MK1 cards. Both when connected show at the display a little "shadow" in the icons and letters, much like when your vision isn't 20/20 and you see things a little bit missaligned.

The strange thing is tha both cards do this in two different monitors Samsung SyncMaster 710N & Samsung SyncMaster SA300. I have changed cables, VGA ports almost every possible combination.

ClassicWorkbench 3,9 seems to suffer a lot, Workbench 3.1 (plain) seems to suffer a liitle.

The funny thing is the starter image when it boots (the one with the Amiga rainbow and the disk drive seems ok)

Anybody know what might be wrong?

Thanks in advance

Also make sure your making use of the grounding wire from the indivision.

Thank you all for your answers

What is that ground wire? I don't see any apart form the wire that leaves INDY to the VGA port

1 make sure you have a high quality double shielded VGA cable with ferrite beads on either end to suppress noise.

Are you referring to the VGA cable that connects to the monitor? Cause the other one (from INDY to VGA port is a standard issued form individual.

Unfortunatelly the new high quality VGA cable that I bought didn't solve the problem ghost images remain. Here are some pictures, maybe yhese will help to identify the problem because I am ready to through them both out of the window :)
