I know this doesn't answer your question directly and you may already be aware of this possibility, but i use an amiga 4000 keyboard connected to my CD32 which works fine :)
 
I think its the only compatible keyboard that works with a CD32.
 
Remapping could be fairly complex and may require software that has not been pursued by many programmers for the reason that the keyboard option is available..
 
Edit: Oops just re-reading it sounds like you already have a keyboard!
