Amiganet needs help
« on: August 05, 2012, 10:15:54 AM »
Hi,

This days everyone is on a forum and put there his messages....

But everyone forgot the old days where it all started before there where forums and internet.

That is Amiganet!

Amiganet need the amiga user helps!

On this moment amiganet is become dead, so via this way i'm looking for new amiganet points, to join amiganet and put also all this forum message on the echo areas of amiganet on this way it become again live !

What is amiganet, well amiganet is like fidonet you need a FTN mailer software to get your lasted echomails or netmails and also a reader to read this echomails or netmails.

I have coded lasted year for the amiga user a update FTN mailer binkd that can run on the lasted technologie from this moment!

For PC users there are a few softwares like Radius is a freeware FTN mailer, or some point packages with everything build in also the reader like Winpoint or FidIP.

Now the echos on amiganet here are a few examples:

BBS News Echo everything from BBSing
Hardware amiga echo
Software amiga echo
Programming amiga echo
Virus Amiga echo
Zeus BBS amiga echo
and a lot more you can join if you like.

To become a point of Amiganet is easy and free like i told you just need a point package software...

Then you need to connect my bbs The Renovator BBS on http://telnet://renovatorbbs.dyndns.org:5432 leave me a message with al your details i need so i can setup you as a point and that's it afther i send you your password you can write on amiganet and get your echomails!

Easy and fun when everyone come back to the day's it start and make again more live in Amiganet and not only on internet and forum.

When we do this all it will be more fun and the echomails go also around the world ! It has more power then forums.

I hope you all become soon a point if you need more info you can email me on rudi.timmer@gmail.com this will be the fasted way !

Hope to see you all soon on Amiganet !

@Krashan

That's normoly when i logon on a BBS system i have to give that also this is from the year 90 till now so if you have a problem with that i can not do anything about this ! Sorry. i dont have any problem to give my personal data on a BBS.

Well, I've connected to the BBS and tried to create an account. Unfortunately the software asks for really too much personal data. Do you really think I give you my phone numbers and postal address? I can enter some fake entries if you really want, but it is stupid anyway.

@jorkany

I'm just a node sysop that has Amiganet and try to look for more points so i can not setup this on internet that is not the correct way how it works and like i told i dont like the way of internet i love BBS and the old ways....

You dont need to logon on a BBS just setup your ftn mailer and reader and you are setup i have on this moment a few point and i know a system of fidonet in the USA that has more then 200 fidonet points getting the echomail everytime. i have 32 nodes on my system for connect on binkd port so i dont see any problem a mail session takes a few seconds of connection.

I think I found the problem:

How about you just set up a website for this "amiganet"? To be perfectly frank, anything "like fidonet" you need to download from a BBS isn't going to gain much traction.

You have to understand when some look for your adress it takes a few seconds to know when you use whois and you website domain and the users know also your details, so the BBS privacy is more protected then the internet.

Yes I do. Therefore I'm just giving up on the subject.
