Commodore made mistakes, sure, but they weren't *that* bad. Escom had good ideas, but bit off more than they could chew. Gateway were doing some good things, but were chased off of it by M$.
Hyperion is in the drivers seat of AmigaOS4. Hyperion has a pretty good track record, so we'll have to wait and see what they do with the OS.
To be honest, since OS4 isn't on the shelves, everything about OS4 is sort of speculative at this point. OS5 is nothing but a pipe-dream, and MorphOS is squarely hampered by the lack of Pegasos boards.
I would like to see both be successful. However, if one of the two are successful (not throwing in a choice for either side, btw)--the community still wins.
