Well OS 4.1 was pretty much a completely new product with new kernel and huge updates. Much like MorphOS 2.x (which you had to pay for), and subsequent updates to MorphOS 2.x were bugfixes with some new features, free updates of course, as the OS4.1 updates are free.
Quite similar to OS4 to 4.1 in that respect, so I think you are being unfair here.
