If you could suggest a measuring tool for the Amiga I could run a test when I'm back home...

I used the NIC I have now from the very beginning when I expanded my A4kPPC with a Mediator PCI bus board.
ATM I can't remember the number of the RTL chip - but it is not the one that is supported in OS 4.x classic.
Just one mB/sec?
With DENEB in DMA mode in a Zorro III slot and using USB 2.0 highspeed?
Nah - the difference doesn't seem that big if I copy files across USB devices compared to copying them between my HDs with the 40 mBit/sec of the UW-SCSI host on the CSPPC.
Is there a (classic) Amiga tool to measure USB transfer rates?
My guess would be around 10-15 mBit/sec...
I can run some tests tonight on my A4000. I have a dual boot OS 3.9 and AmigaOS 4.1 system. It has a mediator in it and I can install the RTL 8139 100Mbit network card, test it under OS 3.9, then do the same test with the USB Adapter on the Deneb in PIO and DMA mode, and then again the same test with the RTL 8029 card in both OS 3.9 and 4.1.
It will be interesting to see the speed differences but I don't think they will be that great.
so in summary:
1) Test RTL 8029 10Mbit (OS 3.9)
2) Test RTL 8139 100Mbit (OS 3.9)
3) Test USB Ethernet adapter (OS 3.9) on the Deneb in PIO and DMA modes
And then in AmigaOS 4.1 Classic:
1) Test RTL 8029 10Mbit
2) Test USB Ethernet Adapter on the Deneb in PIO mode.
I don't think there will be much differences in the transfer rates, but I will find out

I will use a local FTP file transfer to get the transfer rate.
