The portable actually existed. I saw it at a Toronto Amiga show. Also they had (If I recall the correct model number) an Amiga 5050 which was a PC-Amiga hybrid. Not sure if it was just an A4000T with a bridgeboard or two motherboards inside one case.
Both the 4040L and 5050 were on display and working at the show.
