Haiku + AROS hosted would be a joy to use.

I will wait for the day when AmigaOS and BeOS become popular.

The BeOS was the true successor to the Amiga legacy IMNSHO.

I'd love to use the 68k port of Haiku on my A3000/060.

We'll never see a 680x0 port. It began as a PPC OS anyhow, but yes it was being considered as the future of Amiga around the same time that QNX was and MorphOS was born.

Haiku started life as an x86 only OS, since then it's been partially ported to ARM, PPC and 68k.

edit:
BeOS started life on Hobbit processors not PPC btw.

No, BeOS was much earlier, years before there was PowerPC cards for Amiga.

IIRC In the gateway era BeOS was touted as a possible new OS for Amiga after the QSSL deal fell through but before Linux was named.
