The MorphOS Dev. Team does not release any dates of when they will support any particular hardware, so no one can tell you exactly when 3D support for your Radeon 9600 card will be released in a new version of MorphOS.
Well I was kinda hoping that one of the MorphOS devs that frequent this place might be able to give a hint.
I think it might be included in the next release, v2.8, but don't know when that will be finished and released. My guess above is based on recent statements on MorphZone.org by one or more of the MorphOS Dev. Team members that the next version of MorphOS will probably contain support for a few models of the G4 PowerBook and earlier statements by the same, or other MorphOS Dev. Team members that a release for any G4 PowerBook will not be finished until 3D support for the PowerBook's ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 graphics card was also finished. So, my thinking is that if 3D support for the ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 card will be finished in the next release version of MorphOS, chances are good that 3D support for the 9600 may also be included in that version.
Thanks, that sounds promising.
Since this graphic card is intended for your G4 PowerMac, I will assume that it is a card originally manufactured for a Mac, or it is a PC card that has been re-flashed to work in a Mac computer,
It's a genuine Mac part.
so asking if OS4 supports it is a moot point, since OS4 does not run on any Mac hardware.
I know that, but OS4
does run on other machines that contain an AGP slot. I was curious as to whether there is support for this card in OS4's P96/Warp3D drivers or not.
(I always forget and have too look for references on big endian/little endian, to remember which is which)
PPC & 68k == Big Endian, x86==Little Endian (Not counting fancy tricks ala Amithlon etc).
