This is a seriously twisted story and the man should be strung up by his balls for this IMNSHO!

A woman who tracked down her long-lost father in the US is now pregnant with his child.
Garry Ryan, 46, was tracked down by his daughter Penny Lawrence, 28, last year. He had left Ms Lawrence's mother when she was pregnant, so father and daughter had never met.
Following the death of her mother and the grandparents who raised her, Ms Lawrence, from Los Angeles, became obsessed with finding her father, and tracked him down to Houston, Texas.
Upon meeting, they felt an instant physical attraction, which resulted in a sexual relationship. Ms Lawrence is now pregnant with her father's child.

Well, they're both mature adults, they both should have been putting a stop to this when they realised feelings (from Genetic Sexual Attraction, apparently) were arising. Both to blame, not just him.

I just don't understand why only the man should get strung up for this, when they're both adults and equally culpable.

This is going to sound really patronising, but that's probably why you don't understand.

A few reasons off the top of my head:

Why not discuss Lot and his daughters while you're at it? These things do not happen so often that it constitutes a problem, why bother to make such a big fuss out of it?

Indeed, and he should be punished for this; I doubt anyone here thinks it's a good idea to make babies with your babies.

Still, it takes two to tango, and you can't put all the blame on one of them.

This kind of behavior is normal and common in places like the Congo and Alabama.

Father-daughter incest is rape in many jurisdictions.

If it's not so in LA something is seriously wrong IMO.
