I say "Merry Christmas", knowing of course that these days, I might be stepping on a politically correct toe or two, but the fact is that without Christ, there would be no Christmas. Without Christmas, there would be no holiday "season", just a day off to allow for New Years Day hangovers, which are decidedly not-very-Christ-like by nature.
"I will tell you about Jesus son of Mary. He had a stone for his pillow, wore coarse dress, and ate rough food. His Lamp at night was the moon and the earth's vast expanse east and west his roof during the winter. His desert and relish were what grows from the earth for the cattle. His feet were his means of transport and his two hands his servant." - Imam Ali (pbuh), Nahj al-Balagha Sermon 160.
