I don't know where you found the quote by persia above, as it does not show up in this thread on my computer, but I am surprised to read that the minimum wage in Australia is so high compared to the minimum wage in the USA. I guess the wages need to be higher because the taxes are much higher in Australia to pay for more public services, such as public health care, but I did not expect the minimum wage in Australia to be over 2 times higher than the minimum wage here. That's because it doesn't say what the hourly rate is...

It merely says "compensation up to $19"... dunno if that's an Amercan or Aussie way of saying $19 oer hour... :confused:
The UK minimum wage currently ranges from £2.50 per hour ($4.10) to £5.93 per hour ($9.72) depending on age... :eek:
All I can say is I'm glad I don't have to work anymore...
