Hi everybody!

Having tested numerous CD/DVD drives on various Amiga set ups my advice is steer clear of Panasonic IDE/ATAPI Drives as they tend not to work very well (if at all) with any of the buffered interface boards or driver software on the Amiga.
Sadly the same can be said for a lot of the newer drives available, they tend to use SCSI III commands which is not supported fully by any current Amiga software drivers.
You may say but I'm talking IDE/ATAPI here but underneath they still use SCSI commands in operation. Older IDE/ATAPI drive that have firmware that uses SCSI II tend to work without problems but these are getting harder to find. The best drives for the Amiga I have found from experience are the LITEON brand.
I use these myself and have never had any problems with them but these are very hard to buy new today as again most of the newer models use the SCSI III protocols...
