I must be one of the world most careful or just plain jammy Amiga owners ever, I too have been using Amigas since 86 and not once have I ever had one break down on me...

My own theory behind this is switch your Amiga on at least once a day or better still don't switch it off at all even if your off on your holidays... it works for me...

What are you guys doing to your miggies that cause them to break down so much

3 of my A1200s are the original Commodore ones bought brand new when they first came out and the other 4 are Escom/Amiga Technologies (I think) that I purchased about a decade ago and not one of them has ever developed a single fault...

The only stuff I've ever had that breaks down are monitors & printers, monitors are easily fixed but the printers tend to go in the bucket...

That's one of the weird things I don't quite get is why the Amiga is referred to in terms such as retro or nostalgia on the forums... :confused:

Until June of this year I'd never owned any other type of computer other than my Amigas and use them every day, so to me I can hardly call it retro or using it for nostalgia as it always has been my main computer...

I've never been interested in the net before and it was only because I bought an old iMac G4 off my brother in law back in June that I decided to give it a go.

I actually only bought it as I wanted to use the Monitor for something I was going to build and just at that time I got a special offer from SKY for a one year unlimited Broadband for £30, so here I am...

But come June of this year if I don't manage to talk Sky into giving me another good deal for broadband, I'll be quite happy to leave the internet behind and devote all my time to my miggies...

There a perfect example of my coding on Aminet, how many folk that can't code do you know that has written a DVD burner prog for the Amiga...
(also there are plenty of examples of my code on my website all of which are free to download, even for weirdos like you...)

Most likely not... as when you call SKY to get your box repaired (at least once every two years) and they say they are going to charge you a £65 call out fee, you simply have to say "well I'd like to cancel my susbscription then"...

And bobs your auntie, you get a nice shiny new SKY+ box, no fee and a months free subscription... (it never fails... :lol:)

His personal attack came right out of the blue and I'm not the type of person who will just sit here quietly and not respond to such comments and personal attacks...
