Do you guys think I should use an optical filter with my CM8833-II? It makes the picture so dark that I have to turn the contrast and the brightness settings of my monitor very high and I don't think that's a good thing.
I was using an optical filter with 1084S but CM8833-II has a different picture and I can't decide whether I should use the filter or not. What's your opinion?

Having the contrast & brightness set too high on any CRT monitor is not a good idea, it will over time degrade the phosphors in the tube leading to a soft blurry picture.
I have tried these filters in the past and never found them to be very good at all, as for worrying about your eyesight, for almost 30 years I have used a CRT monitor on a daily basis and can safely say it hasn't damaged my eyesight in any way...
