The a1200 in your signature will do nicely...

Im hoping over christmas to be able to get subway and a USB cd rom drive, to take care of that part.

DONT buy a USB CD drive to use with the SUBWAY, I use SUBWAY myself and it's way to slow even on my 060/PPC to handle a CD Drive...:(

If you need a CD drive you'll need one of the 4WAY buffered interface boards, I use the 4XEide & FastATA MKIII boards, with these and a CD/DVD burner you'll have no problems reading/writing CD/DVDs... :)

Easy just plugs into the internal HD connector on the MB. Although you'll have to run a cable to the CD/DVD drive outside the case. Or Make a special connector like I did. There are some pics in my profile page that show this...

It's not too difficult to do, and it's well worth the effort... :)

@Darrin

I think the Deneb is slightly faster than the Subway, but I use my Subway for much the same purposes as you do. It's handy for transfering things between my iMac and Amiga or uploading mp3's to memory cards or mp3 players etc.. :)

Isnt that easier and cheaper done by using a pcmcia compact flash card reader/writer?

They cost like 2 pounds and do the job perfectly on my a1200 and a600.

Nah, not a fan of those things or compact flash cards. The USB lets you connect all sorts of thing like cameras, MP3 players etc...

And a cheap usb multicard reader/writer can be bought for less than a tenner. I want to keep the pcmcia slot for an internet card anyway. :)
