Workbench disk
« on: August 25, 2011, 05:28:58 AM »
Hi all,

I'm new here and just picked up a a3000 for giggles of my youth. It has a 3.1 ROM, Kickstart 40.68, but workbench is not completly installed and is 1.3 I believe because it isn't capable of reading 3.5" PC disks, just 5.25.

Anyone with a set of workbench 2 or 3 disks in the Hampton Roads Virginia area? I can paypal a few bucks for someone to send to if anyone is stateside willing.

I was able to transfer my Amiga Forever ADF's using a serial cable and write the disks on the a3000 itself.  The bad news is the SCSI HD has read errors since formating and I cannot get 3.1 installed.

Nice!  I low-level formated and created a new partition a couple megs shorter then max.  The bad sectors must have been there because everything is smooth now and 3.1 is installed.
