I playing with Music-X v2 right now, the live performance looks good, but editing is pain. I cant figure out how to change the instruments.
This one records the vol levers and effects, like cutoff and resonance.
Manual would be good...

The other one that is simple that I like is Octamed Studio. If you are familiar with trackers then this would be piece of cake.

I'm still looking for other alternatives.

I have B&P on one of the magazine's Cover disks, and I can tell you that did not run very well on 68000. Every time I try to play something, the system would freeze.

While I suspect that it was the 68000 that was giving you problems, I should point out that early on when trying to learn how to use B&P, I experienced a lot of freezes when trying to play a song.

After a while I realised that I had stupidly left the toggle switch on my MIDI interface set to SERIAL passthrough, rather than diverting the signal to the MIDI outputs.

So maybe the freezing is because you've got some tracks set to output to a MIDI interface, but either you have your MIDI interface still set to SERIAL passthrough, or not plugged in?  Maybe?
I'm in the MIDI mood this weekend so I may try again, but my A600 is 68030 now, so it should not be a problem.
I'm working with OctaMED Sound Studio right now, and it's pretty easy to navigate, so far is the easiest to program.
I'm using it with Roland GAIA, one thing I realized that GAIA can only support one patch at a time plus General Midi.

Just curious, can OctaMED sequence/play back music featuring both Amiga sampled instruments and MIDI output to an external device? It might be fun to have both going on simultaneously.
I think it can play MIDI and Amiga Sound at the same time, there is also option for Aura sound card.
You can choose Amiga Samples, MIDI, 16Bit Aura, Synth as a sound.

By the way, can anybody else get MidiTracker working? As far as I can tell I've got all the requirements, but it crashes every time I start it...
I will try it and report back later.
