Well, I did the unmentionable and got the monitor from Best Buy. Took it home and test it. It works very well at NTSC and PAL resolutions, very clear, interlace works too, but it flickers. Dbl NTSC works well too, Dbl PAL is out of range (I'm not sure if it was interlace mode or not).
So I took it back next day, because I found better deal on Amazon for $129.99 refurbished instead $179.99 at Best Buy. I was in the returns line for about 20 min before someone showed up , not happy people behind me either.

Can't wait till I get the monitor again.
Thanks for the find,

I have one of those RGBS to VGA converters, they work fine for NTSC mode, but in PAL it just freezed display, drove me nuts. One thing I will miss is the interlace flicker fix.

Weird that DoublePAL doesn't work. Do you have VGAOnly in Devs:Monitors? There are a few screenmode editing utils on Aminet - you could probably get it working by tweaking it with one of those.

Anyway, I'll know soon enough myself - I've got an SR2320L coming in the mail :)
Dbl Pal does not work, but I don't mind, I use NTSC.
The refurbished monitor came in from Amazon, works great and shipping was only 2 days. No dead pixels and looks like new.
Finally I can use just one monitor w/o external scandoubler.
The banding can be corrected in the monitor's menu using "Pixel Clock" setting and HV position settings. This needs to be set per each resolution.
Very happy with the purchase.
Thanxs to all for finding the undocumented feature

FYI:

http://aminet.net/package/driver/moni/HighGFX40_6

will give you 1024x384 and 1024x768  with the  SR2320L

the included HD720 (1280x720) monitor driver does not work but the HighGFX looks pretty good.

The 1024x384 looks not bad, had a hard time adjusting the pixel clock to get rid of horizontal banding. The interlace is not usable, no flicker fixer.

The interlace is pretty usable for displaying JPG images. Workbench, not so much :)

1024x384 might be cool for shapeshifter.

I have never noticed the pixel clock settings to do much to remove the banding. I think the banding is just going to happen because 1024 can't evenly fit into 1920.

I was thinking that maybe we could create a custom monitor mode.

the monitor has 1920x1080 resolution, so perhaps if a custom mode could be made that is evenly divisible by 3 or 2  ie. 960x540, 640x360, 960x360, or 640x540 then it would look better. 1024x384 is not really a standard resolution, but somehow it works....

what do you think?
Is there a utility that can create custom screen modes? I'm willing to test it, ...actually we might just look in Aminet to see if anyone created one.

Thanx for the info about divisibility, it make sense now why is not working properly at 1024x384.
