Old scart cables doesn't usually work, crt is not picky if some signals is missing.

Another problem is that many LCD-TVs doesn't have RGB scart at all, they have composite scart. Usually IF there is two scart connectors, one is RGB and second is composite.

Composite is used adapter like this :
