Jumper settings for GVP A3001 and RAM8
« on: August 04, 2014, 06:20:22 PM »
Big book of Amiga hardware has a pictures, but not a jumper settings. http://www.bigbookofamigahardware.com/bboah/product.aspx?id=180

Amiga.resource.cx has two entries for this card series 1 and series 2. Ity has a jumper settings for series 2 card and RAM32 module, but not for series 1 card and RAM8 module.

http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/a3001
http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/a3001mk2

With google I have found some questions for this, BUT all answers point for series 2 accelerator and RAM32.

Serie 2 card jumpers settings doesn't help me.

I was looking them from there :( Just wondering are they updated page just few days ago?

Just wondering, cache / MMU jumpers doesn't seems to work as descripted. My board is jumpered so that caches should be disabled, but they are not.

There is a MMU

Also memory board is jumpered so that ram should be mapped to 32 bit space, but it uses 24bit Zorro II scape.

I really would like to know if I can use MMU to map memory away from Zorro II space. Wondering why and how only 50mhz version of card uses it own address space.

Thanks for your input. :) I need to test it without startup-sequence to see what is happenging with MMU/Caches. You migh be right, if I remove both jumpers, it doesn't seems to affect to anything, BUT if I but both of jumper ON amiga doesn't boot at all, only black screen.

OK 50mhz board supports up to 20mb with ram32 board.

Quote

◦16 - 33 MHz boards support 1 MB SIMMs only, possible configurations are 2, 4 and 8 MB
◦50 MHz boards support 4 MB SIMMs, possible configurations are 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 MB
◦using a 4 MB SIMM requires four 1 MB SIMMs to be installed in sockets 3 to 6, so the 4 MB SIMMs can only be installed into sockets 7 to 10

I have a Commodore A2088, I have updated bios on it, so it supports 16bit ISA networkcards. I would like to use etherbridge software with it, to get my A2000 online.

I have already found out that there are several tools to alloc memory and I can remove memory from Zorro II space with software. Can I map memory to 32 bit space with software?

4mb is just too small amount of memory. :(
