Impact A2000-030 REV 1 Help
« on: July 31, 2014, 09:29:59 PM »
Hello

I have a GVP Impact 3001 accelerator, it manufactured march 1990, so it is a revision 1 card.

I would like to know meanings of jumpers, both accelerator and memory card. Memory card is 68030-RAM8

There is a plenty of info about rev 2 card, but not for rev 1 card.

I also found a thread where some body was asking this very same question without a needed answer.

*
I have some small but annoying problems. I usually it doesn't boot to workbench, without a A + A + CTRL

*
It doesn't boot at all with kickstart 3.1. IDE rom is removed and disabled. It has a KS2.0 / Rev6.3 mobo

*
It accepts memory only with group of four, so only 4mb or 8mb ram. I don't want to remove those old sims from their plastic socteds to get my bridgeboard working. I s there a way to map memory away from Zorro II space? Or is it possible to remove memory reservations made by turbo? I just wondering, it is a full 68030 with MMU and add on FPU, usually thise kind of card make their own memory space?

Thanks for help :)

I already checked memory area, it is  in a Zorro II space. 002000 - 009fffff. SysInfo also say that it has a MMU, thought it says "not in use" ?

About boot, I'm prety sure that it is not a because a slow spin up.

I think that timing jumpers has a issue. Turbo was in REV 4 mobo earlier.

Usually I need to do reset 1 to 6 times, before it boots. If I go to early startup there is no DH0 as a bootable device.

There is also a jumper wich should be disable MMU, wich is now disabled, or would be IF this were a REV 2 accelerator. SysInfo says that thereis a MMU.

Also jumper wich should move ram to different address space is also enable. SysInfo says that memory is on Zorro II address space. So jumper setting can't be same than with REV 2 accelerator.

Also there should be 4 jumpers for timing settings J10, J12,   J13 and J14, This card doesn't have a J12. J10 is how it should be, but there is one jumper wich is not righ position, IF rev2 manual would be right.
