Hello,

"Did you read the reviews guys?  Did you notice the complaints?  I haven't endured the pain of using sMurfOS, true, but shouldn't you two shut up until the OS you're trumpeting about works correctly?   When the peg. and sMurfOS deliver the goods, I'll consider investing in one, and you two can post happily praising the virtues of sMorfOS, but at the moment, there isn't really anything to get excited about.

You shouldn't never knock down other systems, more so when the one you're defending is choke full of bugs, unstable, runs only a handfull of titles and barely works."

Sorry but I think you've never used a recent MorphOS.
Personnaly, I'm a user of MorphOS, AmigaOS 3.x (can't use 4.x sorry as it's not available yet), MacOS X, Linux, BeOS and I had used QNX, FreeBSD, Amithlon, AROS.

And between all this OSes the one I prefer is.... Yes MorphOS! Why? Because:

1) It's rock stable (yes it's, you like it or not). I've no stability problem with MorphOS. I use it everyday for work and fun without crashing. I only crash when using alpha/beta software which are even not related with MorphOS. And i'm not the only one being impressed by the stability. All the people I know who have a Pegasos with MorphOS told me also that they were impressed by it.

2) It's the fastest OS in the world for now.

3) I can use all the AmigaOS 3.x apps I have been used to use and that I like.

4) And of course I can use the new PPC software developped for MorphOS

So please stop posting about things you have no good knowledge about it.

Maybe AmigaOS 4 will be better than MorphOS and maybe not. Nobody knows.
For now MorphOS is the only solution available. You may not like that, but that's the REALITY. And it's a good solution, I really like it.

Hello,

Quote
although, I never used MorphOS myself.  I find it really hard to beleive you.  How can MorphOS be better then ALL the operating systems you've listed, when others complain of frequent crashed, incompatibilities and essential features missing.  I know if you REALLY want to like something you will, no matter what, but still........   my regards to Gollum.

I said: I prefer MorphOS over the other OS i've listed.
I never said: MorphOS is better than these OSes.

I can't say that and nobody can, as the apreciation of an OS is personal and depend on what you expect from it.

All I can say is that MorphOS is very very stable, works great and have a very good comaptibility.
I'm speaking about the actual version of MorphOS, not some old version people have tested in 2002 during shows.

I don't know who you are talking about when you speak about people complaining. But I'm sure that's either old complains about old version of MorphOS or people who tried it just 5 mins during a show still with an old version and maybe some buggy software installed.

All the people I know who have a Pegasos with MorphOS are happy with it and impressed by the stability and the compatibility of the system.

The way you're thinking is just like if you had said:

AmigaOS is crap as I tried AmigaOS 1.0 and it crashed all the time.
Or: AmigaOS (any version) is crap because it crash when I use MetalWeb.

In the first case, it's an old version of AmigaOS and so that's not because this old version was buggy that the more recent one like 1.3, 2.0, 3.1, 4.0... are/will be also buggy.
In the second case, it's an application which is buggy (here MetalWeb) and crash the system. That obviously doesn't imply that the OS is also buggy.
