For serious utilities etc, Aminet still cannot be beaten.

For games try Back to the Roots - thousands of legal ADFs :-D

Amiga Forever uses UAE, and the emulation is very accurate - the only problems that I have ever seen is on demos with fades, as these seem sometimes to go slightly too slowly sometimes, but I've never heard of everyone else with that problem.  What speed is the laptop?

You'd also be able to use two disk drives an a hack called "disk2fdi", but again that won't be any good on a laptop :-(
