Perhaps they will be using Intel chips - but for servers or even ARM chips in a handheld. I personally cannot believe that they'd switch for desktop use, considering the amount of marketing they've put into PPC and the risks of MacOS being used on generic hardware. I suppose we'll just have to wait until Monday...
Even if Apple were leaving PowerPC, don't forget that IBM will be starting to sell PPCs to Microsoft (the new Xbox runs on a tri-core 970) - development isn't going to suddenly stop on the architecture. It could even be a good thing, if it leads to a glut of G4s and G5s for us to mop up :-)
