Need some advice on what options i have?
« on: August 01, 2007, 01:56:41 PM »
Hi
Ok i have had enough of the trouble my powerflyer has gave me over the past few yrs esp the last week..
So now it doesn't seem to work at all and i just get a message box on bootup "Not a dos disk in device idgg" and i dont think it is my hard drive as i tried my brothers drive and that wont boot either.

So i have a lot of stuff on this drive that i need so i am unsure what to do and i'm looking for opinions.

Should i buy another powerflyer??These things cost a lot of money.

Should i buy a bufferd interface and then upgrade to scsi since i have a blizzard BPPC??Though i do find scsi very very confusing compared to IDE.

If i bought a bufferd interface would it support my 30 gig HD?i only want to back the drive up really esp if i were moving to scsi.
Thanks

@amigakit
Well i would be interested in getting it repaird aslong as the cost aint  too much..
Infact this powerflyer has already been sent off to elbox once before when i first bought it as it was faulty and fried one of my 3.1 roms.

@Piru
Because i would need to back up the files on my current IDE hard drive.

Ah right i see,well my drive is a 30 gig drive so i wont be able to use the 2.5/3.5 adaptor.

So if i have the correct cable/adaptor to use IDE on scsi does that mean my drive which already has os3.9 installed will boot right away on scsi?
Thanks

Well with a 2.5-3.5 adaptor it will just be 4 gigs of the drive available?
