3com US Robotics 56k modem on amiga?
« on: January 07, 2004, 02:52:50 AM »
hello. Has anyone ever got one of these modems working on their Amiga before? I've tried Miami, and
Genesis and both dial up fine but once it's connected it says something like "36000/ARQ" (I don't know what the last bit means) and on other modems my ISP would ask for a username and then password but all that appears on the screen is a load of misc letters.

anybody know how to get around this?

I've been using the miami init program and also the genesis wizard to try and configure a dial up script and on miami I would normally get a username and password request after connecting but as I said I just get the misc letters. and on the genesis wizard I say that my isp uses a log in script but after it connects it doesn't really tell me anything  :-?

anyway, thanks for your help everyone I'll try your advice later.

This thread brings back memories. I'm pleased to report I got it working fine in the end, can't remember how. Just relieved we don't have all that hassle anymore ! :D
