DPaintV vs. RTG-P96
« on: May 18, 2003, 09:43:56 PM »
Ehm... Don't know if this question has been asked before but why can't DPaintV work on my Voodoo3 machine? It's downer because it's a cool drawing tool, miss the layer support :-)

I can't seem to get it going in any possible way... It crashes all the time when i select a screenmode... And it's not only my voodoo screenmodes but also the standard PAL resolutions :-?

HELP!

Well all versions of DPaint rely on the
Amiga-chipset, and just won't work on anything
else (with the exception of UAE offcourse).

Sorry to hear that :-(

I can load the program at all :-?
I crashes after the screenmode requester, it's like it just get to open the screen but then fails (Can't remember the return code)... My chip mem is on 1729712 kb when I start it... Shouldn't be the problem though, I recall that I've started it on lower mem before...

5. When you start DPaint, you should get the familiar screenmode requester. Try selecting a PicassoIV screenmode, 8 bit, 256 colors. I think the 640 x 480 and 800 x 600 screenmodes work the best. DPaintRTG slows down at 1024 x 768. You might also get a message saying that there is not enough memory to support so many colors, and this is because DPaint still relies on chip memory. It actually eats a LOT of the chip memory. Make sure when you start DPaint that no other programs are using any chip memory.

What is DPaintRTG? A Patch of some kind?
Never heard of it...

But I appreciate the replys!
Thanks!
