Editing comments to gallery pictures

Not only is the problem of the randomly missing "post comment" and "reply" buttons in the image gallery, there seems to be another problem.

Is anyone else unable to edit comments is the image gallery? You can go through the motions of editing your comments, by actually editing them and submitting the edited comment, and it thanks you for doing so, but the changes are not recorded and the old version remains.

Low priority maintenence?

In one of the other threads about this, someone pointed out that you can change the thread view settings and click on "Refresh" to get the reply and post comment buttons to appear. It works.

I don't think I've seen an explanation as to why the buttons sometimes are missing.
