I know of rumours from the past that stated that MicroSoft was actually paying Bill McE. to not release new Amiga hardware / OS.

I know of a rumor where Amiga actually has controlling interest in Microsoft.

According to Bill McE there was some sort of deal with Microsoft.  But then... Bill also promised Amiga OS 5, claiming it to be way better than OSX......

There was a slip of the tongue in an interview where he said that AA2 really was OS5 but they had to change the name because they had a deal with microsoft or some such. Probably something to do with not wanting microsoft to think that Amiga was putting a competing operating system on cellphones with windows mobile installed. I think these days, he's saying that AA2 is not OS5 at all, which makes me wonder where OS5 is. I'm pretty sure it's that thing they're calling AA2.
