All of us here know that the Commodore company that's putting out this new machine or games or whatever is just some company who bought the Commodore name. But, I just saw something interesting on the G4 channel. In the news crawl there was

"THE MAKERS OF THE COMMODORE64 PC ARE RELAUNCHING THE BRAND..."

That's as far as I got when I stopped reading. The point is that everyone else (who even remembers Commodore) will think "hey, Commodore is back!". (The writers of the crawl messages certainly think that.) That's what I meant by "brand power". Sure, it's just a name slapped on the side, but it's easier to get people to buy your new Commodore junk than to buy your insert-new-brand-here junk.  :roll:
