It has been clear since day one that Amiga don't want to be tied to any CPU architecture for the future. Supporting more CPU architectures will allow more consumer choice.

If you want AmigaOS5 (long way to go yet) for the PPC, then buy the PPC version. Do you want AmigaOS5 for x86, then buy the x86 version. IMO there is nothing wrong with offering consumer choice.

Jose, no the plans for AmigaOS5 have remained largely the same. But it will still take alot of time to realize.

AmigaOS4 can be realized much sooner but for PPC only, offering a much more modern solution meanwhile.

Sadly this is hard to understand for most ordinary users, therefor I personally would have preferred for Amiga Inc to keep quiet about AmigaOS5 towards outsiders for now. (But I should add that Bill is not entirely to blame.)
