might want to try shapeshifter (mac emulator) with soft pc 68k version if found on some mac emulation site. I know using it under the PC /athlon 2000 with fusion. I got the the 286 emulator up to speeds 486 150-200mhz. The mac emulation was only a 68020 emulator but according to speend test it beat 150 ppc in power, close to the power of a 200 ppc.

Now that's granular!

I wonder how hard it would be to code an OS4-native x86 emulator.  Or will Bochs do?  (is Bochs open-source?)

Bochs runs nicely under MOS - there's a GUI front end for it too, though the emulation version lags behind the main Linux one - On MorphZone there's a couple of screenshots of running Win98 in a window, which looks nice :-)

Is there a definitive list someplace of the hardware that Bochs emulates?  The only thing I could find was that it emulates a "sound blaster" and (duh) an x86 processor...
