What's the story with "Doomy" then?

I always see his name popping up but no idea who he is.

There was a guy who came onto amiga.org (maybe other sites) who proclaimed various things in a trollish/obnoxious manner, things like the A2000 was the best amiga ever, that all the Amiga custom chips were "mil spec" because they were in ceramic cases and had gold leads, that he was privy to knowledge about Amiga hardware that no-one else was, that he was the best voice in the Amiga community, ad infinitum.

Oh...what else was his...!  Yeah, I recall now, when PC gaming came up he claimed that Doom was the pinnacle of all PC games, ever, that Win98 was the best PC OS out there, that 2000 and XP were junk (despite, by this time (2004-2005 was when he was up to this) the fact that '98 had been abandoned entirely by devs - he even went so far as to claim that Doom3 with some hacked exe that allowed it to run on 98 ran better...).

Then there were the people unfortunate enough to trade with him; he was notorious for mailing out copies of software he'd sold.  For example, someone bought Amiga OS 2.01 from him and he apparently mailed out some grotty old disks with copies rather than an SW version; when the buyer complained here he came stomping in claiming (or maybe the user posted the emailed response he got) that 2.01 was "rare" and the buyer would have to have been mental to have thought he was selling a real copy.  I think there was another case of someone buying some h/w from him and just flat out getting ripped off, and a third who finally got some h/w after chasing him around for a good bit, filing complaints, etc. and when it arrived it it had obviously been vandalized prior to being put in the box.

Argumentative, threatened to hack this site, then claimed that he was best suited to be a moderator here...the list just goes on and on.

That's Doomy.
Back away from the EU-SSR!
