Since we seem to be on a best of/worst of lately...

What's the most frustrating non-release (software-wise) that you remember about the Amiga?  Specifically, what companies flat-out said they'd finished coding and then turned around and refused to release for the Amiga?

I'll start off with EF2000.  Screenshots.  Completed code.  NEVER RELEASED!  AARGH!

Next up?  StarCon II

Believe it or not, AOL.  Yes, they had an Amiga client for AOL (version 1.0), forgot why it was pulled... Probably another huge fubar of C=...

Right you are.  AOL came from Q-Link, and C= owed Q-Link quite a load of cash.  Hence, no AOL for the Amiga.

An AOL client might've helped the Amiga immensely (stateside, obviously)

EF2000? Whats that?

Eurofighter 2000 - a high-fidelity simulation of the 5th generation fighter aircraft of the same name.

Gourard shaded terrain, textured aircraft, the works.

All completed, never released.

Oh, here's another one: Magic Carpet.

Isn't EF2000 otherwise known as TFX?

E/F2000 was the followon to TFX.

Damn...at this point they should just release
it as freeware.

The real tragedy is that in all likelyhood the programmers would agree, but three big sticking issues are:

To whom does the intellectual property aspect of the source code belong?  DiD?  The publishing house that eventually released both TFX and EF/2000 for the PC?  The programmers?

What state is the source code in?

Does the code even exist any more?  I can almost guarentee the folks at Bullfrog, for example, haven't touched an Amiga in the better part of a decade...
