Completely crazy A1200 question.
« on: September 06, 2004, 05:02:47 PM »
It's a purely hypothetical question, as I don't have an A1200 (and probably never will again unless one falls out of the sky into my lap), but...

I've often wondered what the upper end limit of a desktop A1200 setup is in terms of CPU expansion, extra RAM, etc.

Specifically, I'm wondering if, given an adequate beefed up power supply, could you put a Blizzard PPC/060 w/Bvision combo along with a Subway USB controller and, say, a fairly high capacity 2.5in HD into a desktop case and still have enough room for cooling so the whole thing would run in a stable fashion?

Of course in this imaginary setup I'd want a PCMCIA NIC as well (although it could be done through USB, but we want to keep that for external drives, such as a CDRW, and printers, etc.)

Again, this is purely a hypothetical excercise (but if someone wants to give me a setup like that I'd be happy to try it out).

Just a thought on a rainy monday morning, all.
