Well, it won't really help with throughput if there's still a low-density 40-pin ATA connector at each end, but in terms of free space inside the cramped confines of an A400, "why not"? But then, for much, much cheaper you could have a nice rounded ATA cable that won't take up nearly as much space, so why not go that route instead?
