It didn't die of it's own accord - I killed it.

Did you really though Hardware compared to hardware, personally I'd trust the Pegasos more. Software to software (OS4 - MOS), both look to be DOA. But anyhow, don't get me wrong. I'm sure it's probably fun to tinker with:-) Keep and use what you want. I'm glad it's working again for you.

I have not heard of that many amigaones dying by itself?? Most of the people who had damaged their amigaone had either overclocked the cpu or there was some problem with the cooling that made the cpu overheat.

I'm under the impression that they are quite flakey and prone to failure. I would never buy one, but I won't say much more. Personal opinions have gotten me labeled a Genesi employee (not on AO) in the past.

Why would you say that OS4 and MOS are "DOA" they are both being developed atm...

Ok I'll bite. When will either receive a commercial release? When will MOS receive a significant update? When will OS4 have available hardware to run on? Not talk, hard facts please. I just don't see either as anything more than a curiosity anymore, as much as I hate to say it. AROS seems to have more of a future. BTW I'm not saying to stop using what someone has, I'm just saying I don't see either progressing at all from this point.

Just because there is no "commercial release" doesnt mean an OS project is DOA this goes for both os4 and MOS.

This is getting way OT, we should probably continue in a new thread if we want to take this much further. I'll just say this.

Both aimed for a true commercial release and fell short. Both did release a somewhat to fairly useful(beta/pre/insert term)product. Neither seem to have very much additional work being performed. Some people on both sides claim development is hot an heavy, but all inidicators would point seem to point to the opposite. Virtual tumbleweeds.. Schmidt is going imbedded (if anything) and OS4 is orphaned with a final beta prerelease to existing "beta board" owners only.
