IMO you are reading far too deep into this. Amiga.org has a strict no-piracy policy. I also didn't see anyone making fun of him, as his post was vague and open to interpertation.
It hasn't happened as much lately, but there used to be 2-3 post a week by new users looking for kickstart roms or pirate game archives. Before posting somewhere a user shold be aware of the TOS.
Posting guidlines:
Do not post links or requests for warez.
Warez in our definition is illegal software up to and including "abandonware". The exception is if the person is KNOWN to have the legal right to distribute said software. This is not debatable.
What I, you, or anyone else may prsonally think about abandonware is irrelevant. The policy is the policy.
