I have actually TWO comments on this subject.

Here's my first thought:

There's been several cases over here of female teachers having inappropriate relationships with male students.  There's still an inequality in society re adult women committing "statutory rape", as the teacher is less likely to be judged harshly than if it were a male teacher.  Either way, it's an abuse of trust and should be dealt with accordingly.

Same here. It's a whole mindset that it seems all western cultures have. People think Well the boy must have enjoyed it. Well yeah, maybe a girl would have too. It really should be treated the same accross the board and it isn't. Whether they enjoyed it or not doesn't matter. Adults certainly should not be taking advantage of kids under any circumstances.

Here's my second thought on the subject:

Where the hell were these teachers when I was in school!

I can only echo Red's sentiment that if this beautiful creature had decided to 'abuse' me I would not have complained....much.

Absolutely. I, as an adult, definately do not condone female teachers abusing students. It wasn't all too long ago I was one of those pimple faced teens, I remember all too well the raging hormones. There's the biggest reason we need to address this issue the same regardless of the sex of the child. With boy's raging hormones, there is very little chance of them saying no.

I tell you what, I certainly echo X-Ray. Once I hit about ~12-13, the hormones were on and raging. I was a pretty homely looking kid, to whom girls had no interest in. I had no Hot For Teacher type teachers, and had Catholic teachings telling me masturbation was evil. It aint easy being a teen!

I mean, not that I had anywhere near the horrible experiences of any of these people, but I can't see the "news" being interested in the subtle emotional abuse that many children, including myself, endure for years.

If it's any small comfort, know that you aren't alone. Age 10-14 is a period in my life I'd much rather forget. Sadly these experiences play heavily into the people we become. For me it was probably a contributing factor into why I lived in a bottle for so many years.
