Quake II corrupted startup options?
« on: August 16, 2004, 10:53:46 PM »
Hmm, odd. On a fresh HD install w/ OS3.9, W3d, P96 etc everything works tops with one exception. The Quake II startup menu is corrupted. The game plays fine, but tweaking is not completely possible.

Ideas?

0) Try it without p96 , first.

I don't think Quake II will run on AGA:-(

1) Make a back up.(when you do get the settings fixed)

I have a second HD with the exact same setup AFAIK, and don't have this problem. I tried copying DLL and .wizard etc and no help, it must be my OS3.9 install somehow :-?

2) how are you editing the config file? with ed?

No, Q2 (from Hyperion) has a GUI preference window at startup. The selectors are all corrupted. A class act problem maybe?

why? The engine can work with 256 colours. Select a 320x240 screenmode and that's all.

Huh :-? In software render, hmm.. I'll check when I get home.

are you sure you have set up the WarpOS environment variables correctly?
