Value of a VERY loaded 4000T
« on: June 03, 2003, 03:16:02 PM »
Hello!  I am considering the sale of my beloved A4000T but I'm not sure what it's worth.  If anyone would like to let me know what they would expect to pay for such a system, please let me know.  Here are the specs:

Quickpak 4000T
Quickpak 060 @72 MHz (68060RC50A stable to 80MHz)
128 megs Micron EDO Fast ram with EDO Burst enabled on the QP060
16 megs Micron Fast ram on motherboard
2 megs chip standard
Elbox Mediator 4000T
Voodoo3 3000 PCI 32meg SGRAM version
SoundBlaster 128 PCI
RTL 10/100 Ethernet
High density FDD
18-gig Quantum Atlas 10K III SCSI (10,000 RPM VERY FAST!)
Plextor 12x4x24 SCSI CD-RW drive
OS3.9
Opus Mag
TONS of software installed

This machine is very stable and VERY fast for an Amiga.  The Quickpak 060 is the best 060 you can have for an Amiga 4000T IMO.  At 72 MHz using the EDO feature only the QP060 has, it blows a CSMKIII out of the water.  I have run this machine for months without reboots.

Other things I am looking to sell but don't know their value:

CyberStorm MKII 060 w/64 megs (like new in box w/manual and software)
CyverSCSI module for above MKII (like new in box w/manual and software)
Cybervision 64 (NOT the 3D version, like new in box w/manual and software)
VideoToaster 4000 (like new in box/w manual and 4.1 CD)
Airadine Ethernet (no box or manual, but drivers included)

Hmm, I think that's all of it!  Chances are I'd pull the 10K 18-gig drive out of my 4000T and put in a 9-gig 7200RPM instead...but otherwise all of this stuff should probably go.

Anyone care to suggest a value or any or all of this stuff?  If anyone is interested, feel free to contact me.  USA and Canada only please.

Thanks!

As an EX Miggy user I built this machine over the past year to try and get back into the swing of things.  However, as a hard core Linux user, I just can't justify keeping it around as it spends most of it's time just sitting idle.  I have other projects going on and could use the money and this seems the best way to fund them. :)

A lot of love has gone into this system and it is in fantastic shape.  Very well cared for.  I was planning on liquid cooling to overclock further but my RAM holds me back after about 74MHz no matter how cool the CPU is.

It would be a great Shark PPC machine when OS 4 finally arrives.

My gut feeling is I should not expect more then $1000 USD no matter how nice it is, given how cheep PC's are these days.  I have double that into it over this past year.

Just a guess on what these go for....

CSMKII 060 w/CyberSCSI $250
CV64 $85
Toaster 4000 $200
